INNOVATIVE SUSTAINABILITY PAVILION: THE ARCO PROJECT

The ARCO Project, situated in the heart of Rome, is the culmination of a study that seamlessly integrates parametric architecture and cutting-edge technologies to create a pavilion dedicated to sustainability and social interaction. The project employs a system similar to modern rewarding algorithms, encouraging citizens to actively participate in recycling and energy generation by translating these actions into tangible benefits. Key features include air quality sensors, oxygen and water nebulizers, kinetic pavements, and informational LED meshes that work in harmony to position ARCO as a catalyst for social engagement and a cleaner, healthier urban environment.
This innovative approach not only fosters a livable and sustainable environment but also motivates the local community to create a shared space of collective value, engaging them in enjoyable and meaningful challenges.
While ARCO presents a conceptual framework, it deliberately focuses on the system’s functionality, addressing the social and environmental challenges of the urban context. It proposes an innovative solution without claiming to be a final answer but rather serving as a foundation for further exploration and development. The process of developing this concept has been highly stimulating, and it is my hope that ARCO can be explored in greater detail and further refined in the future.
